rabbits, lace, apocalypse

If today had really been the end, it would have been alright (although sad, because I feel it was rather superficial & I didn't get to see Timothy today). But overall, today was (as the title suggests), full of lace and bunny-rabbits! x

I wore a new outfit today! Last month I ordered a navy-colored skater skirt and a lovely white blouse (both from Forever21).  I am usually too tired or un-motivated, but on rare occasion I do put on some lipstick and sit myself in front of the camera; and today was one of those rare days.

The blouse is lace 'round the collarbone, with a pretty self-tie bow at the back of the neck. I love it --except the neckline is so close to my neck. I like having my neck exposed; for some strange reason I cannot stand to have things touching my neck, especially while I sleep. Hair, blankets, fingers, anything (although I do enjoy neck kisses quite a lot; lips are the only things allowed to wander on my neck).

I also missed a trip to the mall today, but I might tag along with my Momma tomorrow. My sister took this photo, she found a cutesy little rabbit figurine! Oh, I hope I manage to pick it up tomorrow.. it would look darling on my nightstand (and then I think about buying a car and all the expenses for my studies in Russia next summer and I feel bad for 'wasting' my money on clothes and trinkets and pretty little things).

I'm also making little rabbits to hang on my wall! They're made of cork-board, and I plan on painting them a soft, light baby pink color. They're very fragile though, I don't think they'll survive the car ride back to school, so I think I may leave them at home for now. x
(More photos I am fond of:)

vivien, sally, 1948

Today I watched Anna Karenina, the 1948 adaptation starring Vivien Leigh. I must say that I was disappointed with the film because it left out so many of my favorite scenes, mostly the ones including Levin and Kitty: the iceskating scene in the beginning, their game with chalk that determines their engagement, and their little walk in the garden where they pick at a flower and laugh like children.

However, I did like how the movie was done. There were so many pretty scenes, I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my stomach!

(During their stay in Italy)

I also thought Kitty was absolutely beautiful, and had the sweetest little voice!
I want to see the new Anna Karenina movie with Kiera Knightley, but I've gotten mixed opinions on it. I wish I could find out for myself whether it's enjoyable or not (and I hope there's much more Levin and Kitty in that one!). Until then, I will keep my hopes up.

new and antiquey

Winter break has started (and it's been rocky and uneasy so far, but today I'm feeling much better). Everything is grey; the sky and its clouds, the houses, the lake, the neighbor's yard, the filtered sunshine, everything. But it is still good, still good.

After Thanksgiving, my sister and I did some online shopping, and these are the pretty pajama shorts I ordered! They're a pretty slate-lavendar color, with a pretty lace trim.

Then there's my sister's Christmas present, an antique camera. I don't know if it's in workable condition or not (I looked through the peephole, and all I see is white light, so perhaps it is broken..). But! the front pops out (like an accordion) and shuts back up, so I think she will like it anyway. And then there's my "bosom box." I purchased it at the same store, and now it's my favorite place to store my favorite brass-colored flower rings, my polka-dot clip bow, my clock necklace that no longer ticks, etc.

Oh, and yesterday I decorated the wall above my bed with Christmas lights, and voila! My room feels like it's glowing with warmth (even if I haven't been lately). It makes for the most wonderful reading atmosphere though, I promise.
